New contracts help Integrity plan for a ‘technology’ driven future

Expanding our offering is helping a leading security specialist come through Covid-19 with a number of new contract wins.

This approach, combined with significant investment in our dedicated control room, has seen us win prestigious deals to look after a high-profile apartment scheme in London called Leon House and the Mailbox in Stockport, an old post office depot that has been transformed into a mix of residential, commercial and leisure opportunities.

“We were already moving towards more electronic security and remote monitoring and I think the pandemic has accelerated this, with clients less keen to have people on site but still maintain secure premises,” explained Will Adams, Managing Director of Integrity.

“The other big move we’ve seen is the desire for us to offer more facility management services, including taking care of cleaning and looking after new signage requirements.”

He continued: “This has now been built further into the Integrity core offer and is something that a number of our existing clients are starting to take advantage of. It is also proving a competitive differential when pitching for new work in what is the new normal.”

Integrity Security Group provides bespoke security services to a blue-chip client base spread across the country, including offices, industrial units, multi-tenanted developments, residential and commercial schemes

Services range from manned guarding, mobile patrols, key holding and alarm response to temporary guarding and strategic consultancy on security matters.

Employing 110 people, we also invest heavily in expanding our, has also invested heavily in expanding its electronic security capabilities, including complex CCTV, access control and fire and intruder alarm systems.

Will, who has been appointed to a British Security Industry Association (BSIA) steering group continued: “Every business has had to pivot to adjust to the challenges of Covid-19 and our industry is no different.

“First and foremost, we’ve had to ensure all of our staff were safe throughout the pandemic and then we’ve had to look at how we can change the way we do things to guarantee security for our clients, whilst also being able to minimise human contact.

“This has seen a lot more remote monitoring that we carry out from our purpose-built control centre in Solihull and increased investment in electronic access solutions. Whilst there will always be demand for manned guarding services, the big growth opportunities will focus on technology and how we integrate it effectively into the security offer.”

We are also throwing our backing behind a new awareness campaign jointly launched by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), the Security Institute and the Security Commonwealth.

It intends to highlight the essential role Security Officers play in public life and to improve the public’s respect and recognition of their skills and competencies they demonstrate to successfully undertake their jobs.

Will concluded: “The campaign will showcase security professionals as a respected, valued, professional service provider contributing to and creating a safe and secure environment: critical to protecting people, places, and property – a key worker that is seldom acknowledged and yet is firmly embedded in our daily lives.”

Check with your insurance before postponing your fire alarm servicing

Posted on Categories: Business, News, UncategorizedTags: , , ,

As recommended by our industry body IFEDA (The Independent Fire Engineering & Distributors Association), we are advising customers that if they want to postpone any Fire Alarm service visits and weekly bell tests that we strongly suggest gaining written confirmation that this is acceptable from their insurance provider.

If customers ask us to postpone a service visit, then they are likely going outside of the maintenance requirements under British Standards. This is why we are advising approval from your insurance provider as if the worse does happen there is a concern that they would refuse to payout due to the maintenance and testing schedule of the system not being kept up to date.

Health and safety are always at the forefront of our minds and underpins everything we do in our industry and so we would like to remind property managers of their continuing obligations under current legislation to maintain fire protection systems and equipment, but obviously, during the current pandemic, this brings additional challenges and considerations.

We have already developed rigorous best working practices in these trying times so we’d urge all clients to contact us when their servicing is required to discuss how we can work to ensure you’re on-going compliance.

CCTV Monitoring takes the heat off…

When we received a CCTV alarm from a client’s system recently, our operators jumped into action without delay.  After reviewing a male loitering at a multi-tenanted site late at night we notified the police.  The male was then seen setting fire to the building and our Control Room supervisor immediately phoned the Fire brigade who arrived promptly and put the fire out before any serious damage was done.

A big well done to our Operator Connor Bowden, an great example of Excellence Through Our People!

Stay safe during a terrorist attack: Run, hide, tell…

Posted on Categories: News

While the chances of being caught up in a terrorist incident remain rare, it is important to be prepared and know how to protect yourself if the need arises. Counter Terrorism Policing has released guidance that sets out three key steps for keeping safe in the event of a firearms or weapons   attack. If you are caught up in an incident our advice is to ‘Run, Hide and Tell’ – guidance which can be applied to many places and situations.

RUN – Run to a place of safety. This is a better option than to surrender!

HIDE – It’s better to hide than to confront. Remember to turn your phone to silent and turn off vibrate. Also barricade yourself if you can do.

TELL – Tell the police by calling 999!
